English Teacher
I graduated high school in 2011 from Bishop Carroll Catholic High School in Wichita, Kansas.
I graduated with my undergraduate degree in 2015 from Newman University.
I received my Masters in Education from Baker University in June of 2020.
During my time at Newman, I received a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education as well as minors in English and Theatre. I specialized in Curriculum and Instruction when receiving my Masters in Education.
This will be my fourth year teaching at Andale High School, and I will be teaching a few sections of English 2 as well as English 3.
I am the Sophomore Class Sponsor.
I began my teaching career in Wichita Public Schools in 2015 where I taught Language Arts for 6th and 8th grade students, reading intervention courses, as well as an extra curricular theater course.
My husband Jonathan and I got married in September 2020, right in the midst of the COVID pandemic.
We have a beautiful daughter, Claire, and a fur baby named Marge.
I was raised in Colwich, KS and grew up in the Renwick district. I attended Colwich Elementary School from K-8 grade, and I actually had Mrs. Shackelford as my math teacher! This will be my 4th year at Andale High School, and I look forward to the many memories that this year will bring!
I enjoy hanging out with my daughter and getting to experience all of her “firsts” during her toddler years. I love reading any book I can get my hands on – if someone wrote it, chances are I will read it. In my free time I can be found walking, hanging out with my family, and spoiling my nieces and nephew.
